I had a hard time finding some easily downloadable Solidworks drawing templates for meeting ASME Y14 so I went ahead and just created them myself. These in particular are for Solidworks 2018 and include all the drawing formats, sheet formats, drafting standards, revision table, document fonts direct from ASME, list properties, and blocks necessary for the templates to work right.

Included are only the A and B sizes, first because I haven’t had the time to put the other sizes together, and second because I believe that most drawings should be limited to these sizes anymore since few companies keep up their large format printers. The majority of people don’t like dealing with huge drawing sizes as they take up a lot of space, although they have their place (aerospace, shipbuilding, etc.).

You can use the blank templates and type your info in the properties, or use the Ransford templates and just replace your logo.

I’ve got about 12 solid hours in these templates honing every little tiny detail. Invariably there will be something wrong since there’s so many requirements, so no guarantees, and please let me know if anything is off the standard so I can correct it.
