My name is John Marshall Jr.

I am an entrepreneur, mechanical engineer, guitarist, and world traveler. I started Ransford Engineering in 2016 and live in Colorado Springs, USA.

What is TuningJohn?

I write from an Engineer’s perspective in an attempt to provide provide a unique viewpoint on the world, equipping you with a set of tools to solve problems in a way you wouldn’t think of on your own. You don’t need to be an engineer to benefit. Above all, I hope to be useful.

Engineering Principles is a collection of basic engineering principles that can be used as tools by non-engineers and engineers alike to make their lives and businesses better.

 Book Summary: Creative Confidence by Tom and David Kelley  Book Notes  My personal book notes and important quotes. A guidebook if you've never felt like a "creative", but want to expand your brain-toolbox. 
 The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky  Book Notes  I was inspired to read this after I listened to the Brother's Karamazov on audio book. Although it was somewhat good, I was quite confused ... 
 Book Summary and Notes: Everybody Lies by Seth Stephens-Davidowitz  Book Notes  Seth takes the psychological insights from big data and makes them accessible for the rest of us.
